With three decades of leadership in international development, finance, and operations, Jen Beaston brings unparalleled expertise to Azure Ascent. She has led organizations through startup phases, high-growth periods, and times of crisis, always with a focus on sustainable impact.
Jen began her career in investment banking and international finance, where she developed deep expertise in financial modeling, risk management, and strategic investments. She later transitioned to mission-driven work, applying private-sector efficiency and financial rigor to nonprofit and hybrid organizations. Her ability to bridge the worlds of business, government, and civil society has been instrumental in driving large-scale, sustainable impact.
As CEO of Crosscut Mountain Sports Center, she built a world-class training and recreation facility, expanded community programming, and led a major land conservation initiative. Previously, as Peace Corps Country Director in Rwanda, she transformed programming to align with national and international priorities, significantly improving outcomes. As COO of Tostan, she managed an exponential expansion, establishing governance and financial infrastructure to support operations across multiple continents.
Jen holds an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management, known for its excellence in international business and leadership. She is passionate about mentoring the next generation of leaders and deploying the best of business, government, and mission-driven organizations to create innovative solutions to complex problems—all while putting people first.
